Musical Compositions

Darian also works as a film score composer and songwriter. Here is a sample of some of their music.

Darian was the songwriter and composer for a youtube cartoon called Luna’s Underworld. Upbeat and exciting, this catchy melody was designed to evoke the colorful, childlike magic of the show as a whole. Click on the title above or the image to listen to the theme song! The show’s development is stalled due to budgetary constraints. You can find more information about this project on Twitter and Patreon.

Another song from the Luna’s Underworld collection, Fly, Little Moth was set to be the show’s end credits song. Esteemed singer and voice actress, Elsie Lovelock, provided the vocals and Darian provided the instruments. A soaring waltz, this piece is as lonely as it is uplifting and calls to mind a late night filled with memories of days gone by. As usual, click the title or the image to listen.

Fang

Darian wrote the soundtrack to a video game called Fang. Here are a few samples:

Designed to go with Quentin Basnaw’s short film, Unveiled, this piece’s dark, emotive energy and driving bass and drums were meant to evoke a classic spy film a la James Bond, albeit a little more brooding. Click the title or the image to listen.

With celestas, violins, and trumpets dancing above well timed low brass, all to the beat of the snare drum and the accordion, this waltz was designed for a young adult television show about Sherlock Holmes’ young assistants. Its playfully macabre tone calls to mind a ball room dance above the ash-covered streets of Victorian London. Click the title above or the image to listen.

Designed for Max Harp’s short film, Devil’s Advocate, this overture features a spooky, off-kilter melody, passed from one orchestra section to another. Catchy, dark, and almost frantic, the piece pays homage to Camille Saint-Saens.
